Writer Miguel Ángel Chávez Díaz de León above his hometown Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. in 2009 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Periodismo de México for his book “El dulce Encanto de mi Embolia”, an account about his long suffering from a stroke that almost killed him. He also wrote essays and novels (‘La Guerra por Juárez’, ‘Rostro y Voces de víctimas de la violencia en Ciudad Juárez’) about the violence in Juarez.
